Just wanted to wish everyone out there a happy memorial day!! We are so lucky to live in a free country and I am just so grateful for the troops fighting for us today that help our country stay that way. I also want to take a moment to honor and appreciate those who have died for us and for our country. God bless them, their families, and our country!!

Just a quick check-in!! Wanted to let everyone know that walking is going even better than I expected. Physical therapy seems to be helping. I am getting more movement and motion in my foot. While I am still wearing the brace/boot, I actually walk barefoot around the house and am having no problems. I must say that it is FREAKIN’ AWESOME!!!!
Hoping to come back to Etsy soon…Will make an announcement here when that happens! Love you all and thank you so much for all of your support!
LOOOOOOOOONG time, no see!! February 20, 2009
Hello all!!
Wanted to make a quick check-in post. Life has been so super-crazy busy for me lately that I don’t even check my email but once or twice a week. My workload at my “REAL” job has been severely increased and I am walking like you wouldn’t believe.
I’ ve been through many a cast, walking casts, a contraption, splints, two wheelchairs, a walker, crutches, and a cane – all in about two years’ time. I am currently in a walking boot and am about to transition into a brace. While for now it has been stated that I will wear the brace for “lifetime”, I am also in physical therapy to try to gain some strength in my weak little leg, as well as increase motion and flexibility in my foot/ankle. I have hopes that I can get even better. If so, I’ll be able to lose the brace even!!
I don’t get down too easily. I mean, come on – I was told by THREE (count them, three) doctors that I should amputate from the knee down. Did I listen?
HELL NO!!
LOL Imagine if I had!!!! Have I struggled? You bet, but I am better now and better for it!
So that is THAT update!!! LOL

About Etsy….as of now, I still am maintaining my shop in Vacation Mode. Once things at work slow down and I am having to attensd physical therapy less, I will be back. AND I WILL BE BACK….I definitely miss it!!!
Please feel free to leave comments. I miss everyone and would love to hear from you!!

Long time, no see!! :) November 22, 2008
I bet people have been wondering where in the heck I’ve been – or maybe not!! LOL The truth is that I have gone back to work full-time (in a wheelchair, for now). When you’ve been off for a month or more, things become a little messy while you’re gone!! So, my first couple of weeks back included cleaning up a LOT of messes and putting out a LOT of fires!!
Hopefully, things are better under control now and will remain under control for a while. When things at work are under control, I can stop working so much overtime and can spend more ETSYtime!! LOL
Here’s to seeing more of each other!!
Just a few more days… August 17, 2008
So I am worried about this upcoming week… I’m still wearing this casted sock on steroids and can’t wait to (hopefully) get it off on Thursday. Am I worried about that? NO!! What I am worried about is that my mom is having her tonsils taken out on Wednesday, the day before. So, since Lance is a teacher, he will start back to work this week and it will just be my mom and me.
Again, I don’t ever mind spending time with my mom – in fact, I usually enjoy it.
So what’s causing me the stress? A few things…First, I am hobbling around on one foot here. I can carry some things while I use my walker, but not many. My mom will need to rest and I fear that she may feel as though as has to wait on ME. On top of all that, my husband is frustrated because he doesn’t want me to feel like I need to be waiting on my mom and he’s upset that she won’t postpone her surgery. He feels like I’ve been going through a trail of health problems regarding my leg and I’m finally on the downhill slope. He wants me to focus on resting and healing – not focusing on someone else to do that. On top of all of that, my husband has been lovingly taking care of me for a year now. He is starting back up to work again now that school is starting back up soon and so some stress goes along with that. He feels as though he will be working during the day while worrying about me, and then will have to come home and take care of BOTH my mom and me. I think he’s just feeling exhausted just thinking about all of that.
While I can understand all of that, there are other people at stake. LOL….that sounded right out of an action heroes comic book or something. Really? My mom makes wedding cakes and grooms’ cakes. She has two weddings in September, two weddings and my nephew’s sixth birthday in October, and then we’re into the holidays. According to her doctor, when tonsils are taken out when you are a child, the child bounces back after a week or so. As an adult, they can be out of work (and in bed) for up to four weeks. If my mom doesn’t do it now, it won’t happen until next year sometime. Since she gets strep throat quite frequently, I don’t want her to be sick all the time until next year….that would seriously suck.
So, anyway….that’s my dilemna.
Hubby doesn’t want it to happen right now; Mom doesn’t want to put it off; and I don’t want my mom to be sick, want hubby to worry, get myself worn out OR feel like I’m caught in the middle.

So, back to business!!! Putting up some new cards and lovelies in the very near future!!!
